Unfortunatly Mary could not make it to the workshop just before Christmas so she spent her time making these lovely hearts.

Snow dyeing

Soak your 100% cotton fabric in soda  (1tbls to ½ pint water double up the quantity until you have enough liquid for your fabric)

Place a sheet of glass or something similar on an angle in the sink

Place the fabric on top

Pour on snow

Sprinkle on different colours of procion dye powder

Leave to melt

The Tree Canopy
Students are creating  a handmade journal in which to record images of the rain forest such as the exotic flora and fauna which found in abundance. Using transfer paints to create a background of luxuriant foliage created by hand and free machining on disolvable fabrics or bonding and using distressed techniques and silk paper.
