Augst work finished!
This is my silk paper lavender bags. Thanks to Lesley for her lavender I managed to make three and also to put a bag inside my cushion that I made earlier in the year, so that is now finished too!
This is my silk paper 'hoard' book. It hasn't photographed very clearly but I have embedded in some metal coins, beads, etc. in a piece of scrim. I painted them over with the iron paint and activator. I didn't want to completely cover the book in paint as I had included some coloured fibres in the paper which I wanted to show. I have distressed the pages (nearly set the kitchen on fire) and I shall use it to write in notes about the pieces of work I have done.
This is the smocking and Dorset buttons. I have done a piece of traditional smocking and another more modern piece with randomly placed gathers. I have grown quite attached to feather stitch, it comes out really well. I have included the canvas work from July to show how I have finished it off.
Thanks very much to Annie and Diane for a wonderful year of stitching, I have learnt such a lot. It is a shame it is so far to come from Scarborough but looking at what you are doing next year, I might still pop over for a day sometime. Regards to everyone and I hope to see you around.
